My BTYahoo email account has been showing that I have an unread message for months now when I actually don't. Its really starting to bug me and of course BT charge a fortune for technical help! Has anyone had the same issue? I have tried the new version and it did not correct it so I went back to the original version as I prefer it.

Try clicking on the mail icon in the tool bar at the top of the home page.
Reply:Yahoo was contacted about this and say it's a glitch, they have their engineers working on the problem. As long as you have looked through all the emails, open the inbox, click view all messages, then unread messages, if you have any late arrivals or in folders they will show. This has been happening in the classic mail since Yahoo has been upgrading the classic. It cleared for the rest of us without doing anything to make changes or fixing it. At the same time our new mail alerts stopped working, all is well now.
Reply:this is so annoying, mine has started showing two messages that are supposedly unread in my inbox. when I go in it says no unread messages.
It did this a while back then corrected itself or yahoo, dealt with it.

Reply:Do you have an email in your inbox? If so, click on it and wait for about 3mins so that it registers you have read it. It shouldn't show up as unread again. Usually, if we read an email fast, under a minute, it is still registered as unread. Other than that, can't help you. Sorry
Reply:Happens to me too but they are usually sent straight to spam when i look in the inbox..
Reply:Its possibly an old message that has been marked as read. Go through previous message list to find that sucker.
Reply:It can be manually marked read or deleted or moved to another inbox folder.

Can I send btyahoo email from another server?
I use outlook as an email client. For a large proportion of the year I live in Belgium and, using a Belgacom account, I can download email but not send it. Is it possible to configure my account to allow sending?
I know that I can use the web intefrace, but this is very inconvenient.

How do I automatically forward my email from my btyahoo address to my yahoo address?
I still can't figure this out. Am I being thick? I've bookmarked the two servers but it doesn't save the right email address and I can't work out the blurb POPs and HTLM or whatever just to set the thing so that my bt yahoo email is forwarded to my Yahoo address. Being the same company it must be easy!

The primary account will be the one that allows you to mange your BT Yahoo account but you can create up to 9 more additional e-mail addresses and disposable e-mail addresses that you can use to join sites that insist on a valid e-mail to sign up with then simply delete them and avoid spam

have you got GPRS on the phone if you do call up o2 and get the GPRS setting from them.
Then once you have the setting open a browser on your phone and just type in the yahoo url mail.yahoo.com and sign in as you normally do.

As well as this happening, previously my e-mail tab has wrongly told me two e-mails are unread...that has now stopped occuring so I dont know if that has any significance...I've recently scanned the drive with Norton Anti-Virus and there are no problems there. You need to set up Microsoft Office Outlook. You can have this running so that you still receive emails to the usual mail box. But you can access outlook anywhere and it has never failed on me up to now. It is faultless

Your question requires a little clarification. Do you mean she wants doesn't want Outlook Express to check her yahoo email account? If that's the case, she just needs to delete the account out of Outlook.
If you mean that Outlook Express launches when she clicks and email link, I don't know if it's possible to change that -- it's obviously her default email program and those links are set to launch the default email. I'm not sure you can make your email default a web-based program.

If you have the yahoo messenger then go to it and click messenger. Scroll and click Preferences. On the side menu click Alerts %26amp; Sounds. Mark the boxes Enable alert sounds, Showing a message at the bottom right corner of screen and Playing a sound. Click Apply and Ok. It is always best to restart the computer after making changes for effectiveness. Hope this helps.

I don't have the broadband account situation you describe, but when you are in getting your mail, is there a "Sign Out" link just to the right of the Yahoo!Mail logo?
Click that and you should be able to log in with any yahoo address.
If you don't see a "Sign Out" link, try going to Internet Explorer and putting the link below into the address. It should be there.
